Building Back Coffee & Chat

Are you in recovery from substance use? Curious about recovery?

Come hang out at this drop-in group led by ​​people with lived and living experience (PWLLE) and staff. It’s open to all, so you can join in at the right time for you and participate how you want.

Together, we:

  • Enjoy snacks, coffee, tea and juice
  • Listen to music
  • Participate in art workshops
  • Play board games
  • Build supportive friendships
  • Share experiences with recovery
  • Participate in one-to-one peer support/networking
  • Rest and relax in a safe space

It’s a chance to find out more about the Junction, meet our team, and spend time with peers and others in the community.

You can join when you come in or register ahead of time—whatever works for you!

All-Pathways

All-Pathways meetings welcome all who are experiencing or have experienced substance use and are seeking or maintaining a wellness and recovery lifestyle. In this support group that is led by people with lived and living experience (PWLLE) and staff, we support any pathway that helps support you and your individual recovery and wellness goals. You are not required to share, and it’s okay to participate by just listening.

Some discussion topics include:

    • Dealing with change
    • Finding purpose
    • Healthy relationships
    • Coping with triggers and cravings

And more

We also host a 2SLGBTQ+ specific All-Pathways meeting.
Some participants may be members of specific fellowships, such as SMART Recovery or 12-Step groups, so you may hear comments from those programs in this meeting, but we are not affiliated with any specific group.

Navigating Recovery

This open psycho-educational group led by staff and people with lived and living experience (PWLLE) is for anyone interested in learning more about navigating recovery and the various pathways available. Core sessions expand on various topics, and there’s a free participant workbook to help personalize the material for your individual journey. You’re welcome to attend this group as many times as you like.

Session topics include:

  • Session 1: Defining Recovery
  • Session 2: Exploring Your Values
  • Session 3: The Chair Model of Substance Use
  • Session 4: Harm Reduction and Abstinence
  • Session 5: Recovery Support
  • Session 6: Wellness Wheel, SMART Goals, & Balance

Yoga

Start your week with a trauma-informed yoga class for all experience levels. We have mats! Just bring yourself and some comfy clothes. This class is one-hour long, and herbal tea and snacks are available. Chair yoga is also included for those with limited mobility.

Art Expressions

Find new ways to express yourself through art. Together, we wake creativity, encourage authenticity, foster self-empowerment, and recognize alternative ideas and possibilities useful in problem-solving. No experience or artistic skill is necessary!

Mediums include oil, pastels, water colours, masks, plants, beading, sketching, clay and more!

One-to-One Recovery Navigator Support

Come and meet individually with one of our Recovery Navigators to discuss wellness and recovery goals and/or to connect with services in your community. Some things Navigators can help with include:

  • Exploring your core values and setting goals that support your self-identified recovery goals
  • Finding balance and purpose
  • Exploring various resources for employment and education
  • Connecting with community organizations and health-care professionals
  • Understanding local substance use services and assistance with appropriate referrals

One-to-One Peer Support

Come and connect with a peer support worker who has lived and living experience with substance use and recovery. Some things peer support workers can help with include:

  • Periodic check-ins (via text, phone, or Zoom, or in-person)
  • Discussing various peer resources and options for recovery support, and recovery-related accompaniments

We believe that holistic recovery includes a good time, so come start off your weekend in a fun, safe and supportive environment! Featuring various activities, including karaoke, trivia, bowling, games and movies, along with snacks and non-alcoholic beverages, this is a great opportunity to connect with like-minded folks or try something new!
